This book group will appeal to art mavens who want the opportunity to read and talk about contemporary art. Through an autobiography, a memoir, and a journey through the art world, two award-winning educators will help readers unravel what art since 1980 is about. Discussions will be augmented by PowerPoint images of paintings, photographs and sculptures relevant to the artists in each book. Explorations will strive to prove an understanding of the creative process, the context in which works were created, the stories that are told, and the issues artworks raise. Questions that will help you “steer” though the book will be available prior to each meeting. Take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the ways that art and literature meet.
