Program Description

Details

During the years of slavery in the US, a loose network of information, safe houses, and individuals willing to help worked alongside freedom seekers. The Underground Railroad sprouted throughout the northern states, in big and small cities, and the small village of Ripley, near Cincinnati soon gained a reputation as the “hell hole of abolition.”  Join Valencia College Professor Carl Creasman to examine some of the leaders and activists from the Ohio River Valley that transformed the nation in America’s first multi-racial social movement.
