Weekly Storytimes - August 19 - December 19

Storytimes are free and no registration is required. All storytimes are designed with age-appropriate activities that include books, music, nursery rhymes and fingerplays.

  There will be NO storytime November 24 - 28 and December 22 - January 2.

Mother Goose Time
Designed for birth – 24 months and their caregivers.
Duration : 20 min.
Tuesdays – 9:30 a.m. – prewalkers
Tuesdays – 10:30 a.m. – walkers

Thursdays – 9:30 a.m. – walkers
Time for Twos
For 2-year olds & their caregivers.
Duration: 30 min.
Tuesdays – 11:15 a.m.
Wednesdays – 9:30 a.m.
Thursdays – 10:30 a.m.
On Your Own Time
For 3, 4 & 5 year-olds without their caregivers.
Duration: 30 min.
Tuesdays – 1:30 p.m.
Thursdays – 11:15 a.m.
Pajama Time
Family storytime for kids birth to 5 year-olds and their families.
Duration: 30 min.
Tuesdays – 7 p.m.

Movies for Kids

Come to the Library the second Friday of each month to watch a movie on the big screen. B.Y.O.S. Bring your own snacks!  Recommended for ages 3 and up. Please call for information about movie titles and the length of the program, 407-623-3300, ext. 4.

January 9, 10 a.m. - Storytime Room
Marlin and his son, Nemo become separated from each other in the Great Barrier Reef. Marlin embarks on a dangerous trek to find Nemo. 100 min.

February 13, 10 a.m. - Storytime Room
The Buddies and their new friends must summon their courage and ingenuity to launch plans for a moon landing and a rocketing trip back home. 84 min.

March 13, 10 a.m. - Storytime Room
Join Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat on their adventures to save Bloomsberry's Museum. 88 min.

April 10, 10 a.m. - Storytime Room
Woody and Buzz are rival toys, until they must work together to escape the toy-torturing boy next door. 84 min.

May 8, 10 a.m. - Storytime Room
Hotshot race car, Lightning McQueen is living life in the fast lane, until he becomes stuck in Radiator Springs where he discovers there is more to life than trophies and fame. 116 min.

Elementary Craft

Just for kids in K - 5th grade.  Held one Wednesday a month from 3 - 4 p.m. in the first floor Community Room (unless otherwise noted).  Seating is limited: registration is required and begins the first day of each month for that month's activity.  Call (407) 623-3300 ext. 4 to register.

January 21 - Piggy Banks - Design and decorate a bank.

February 18 - Bulletin Boards - Design and decorate a bulletin board for your room.

March 18 - White on Red Pottery

April 15 - Mother's Day Surprise

May 20 - Father's Day Surprise

R.E.A.D. Club

A book discussion group for kids in 4th and 5th grade.  The books will be available for check out when you register.  Registration begins at each meeting for the next meeting.  Kids should read the book before the group meets and arrive ready to discuss the book, eat yummy snacks and go on a scavenger hunt!  The group meets on Tuesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. in the second floor conference room. Call (407) 623-3300 ext. 4 to register.

Video Games for Kids

For kids in 1st through 5th grade. Usually the first Monday of each month, from 4 - 5 p.m. in the second floor Storytime Room. Play video games on our PS3, XBox 360 and/or Wii consoles. Play our games or bring your favorite to share (rated E games only). Space is limited; registration is recommended.
