Weekly Storytimes - Storytimes start August 19.

Storytimes are free and no registration is required. All storytimes are designed with age-appropriate activities that include books, music, nursery rhymes and fingerplays.

                                         Special Halloween Storytimes on October 30, registration required, followed by trick-or-treating at the Library (see below).  There will be NO storytime Novemeber 24 - 28 and December 22 - January 2.

Mother Goose Time
Designed for birth – 24 months and their caregivers.
Duration : 20 min.
Tuesdays – 9:30 a.m. – prewalkers
Tuesdays – 10:30 a.m. – walkers

Thursdays – 9:30 a.m. – walkers
Time for Twos
For 2-year olds & their caregivers.
Duration: 30 min.
Tuesdays – 11:15 a.m.
Wednesdays – 9:30 a.m.
Thursdays – 10:30 a.m.
On Your Own Time
For 3, 4 & 5 year-olds without their caregivers.
Duration: 30 min.
Tuesdays – 1:30 p.m.
Thursdays – 11:15 a.m.
Pajama Time
Family storytime for kids birth to 5 year-olds and their families.
Duration: 30 min.

Halloween Storytimes - Thursday, October 30

Mother Goose Time, walkers - 9:30 a.m.
Time for Twos - 10:30 a.m.
On Your Own Time - 11:15 a.m.

Come in costume for a Halloween themed storytime followed by trick-or-treats at the Library. Registration required; register by clicking on the appropriate storytime above.

 

Spooky Stories - Monday, October 27

7 p.m., Storytime Room

For kids ages 6 to 11. Come here Mr. Tom and friends regal you with spooky stories in preparation for Halloween. Refreshments will be served.

Movies for Kids

Come to the Library the second Friday of each month to watch a movie on the big screen. B.Y.O.S. Bring your own snacks!  Recommended for ages 3 and up. Please call for information about movie titles and the length of the program, 407-623-3300, ext. 4.

October 10, 10 a.m. - Storytime Room
Join Pooh and his friends as they help Lumpy the Heffalump celebrate Halloween. 60 min.

November 14, 10 a.m. - Storytime Room
The VeggieTale Pirates sail away on an adventure. 90 min.

December 12, 10 a.m. - Storytime Room
Come see Frosty the Snowman and his friends on their adventures. 70 min.

Elementary Craft

Just for kids in K - 5th grade.  Held one Wednesday a month from 3 - 4 p.m. in the first floor Community Room (unless otherwise noted).  Seating is limited: registration is required and begins the first day of each month for that month's activity.  Call (407) 623-3300 ext. 4 to register.

October 15 - Greeting Card Creations - Stock up your stationary drawer with cool cards.

November 19  - Birdfeeders - See a variety of easy birdfeeders and make your own.

December 17 - Ornament Fun - Make a variety of ornaments to decorate for the holidays.

R.E.A.D. Club

A book discussion group for kids in 4th and 5th grade.  The books will be available for check out when you register.  Registration begins at each meeting for the next meeting.  Kids should read the book before the group meets and arrive ready to discuss the book, eat yummy snacks and go on a scavenger hunt!  The group meets on Tuesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. in the second floor conference room. Video Games for Kids

For kids in 1st through 5th grade. Usually the first Monday of each month, from 4 - 5 p.m. in the second floor Storytime Room. Play video games on our PS3, XBox 360 and/or Wii consoles. Play our games or bring your favorite to share (rated E games only). Space is limited; registration is recommended.
