Program Description

Details

Learn the basics of gardening to support butterflies.

Led by Master Gardener Candice Hoke, participants will review the types of butterflies that visit or live in Central Florida, distill the garden features they need most to support their life cycles, and focus on particular plants that can be grown to lure and nurture them in your garden with horticultural/"growing success” recommendations.  Because some “pollinator support” flowers tend to draw large numbers of bees/wasps, this class will also identify the types of flowers to avoid in locations that will draw butterflies but not bees.

Partnership with UF/IFAS Extension Orange County.
